:: Questions about programs for Secondary Schools and Community Organizations ::
In which countries are there group programs for secondary schools and community organizations?
The programs take place in Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, the Philippines and in Thailand.

Is there a minimum number of participants per group?
Yes. Your group must consist of at least ten people in order to participate in the program.

What is the length of the programs?
For the programs in Latin America the length of the stay can vary between 10 and 21 days, depending on what the group chooses. The programs in Africa and in Asia have a minimum length stay of 18 days.

When can we leave?
When the time is right for you! The departure date is chosen by the group.

When should we register?
Participants should register at least seven months before the departure date. This ensures that there is enough time for HorizonCosmopolite to organize the logistics of the trip and the 30 hours of pre-departure training. In addition, this gives participants enough time to fundraise.

What are the costs?
The costs vary depending on the number of people in the group, the time of departure, the length of stay and the chosen country. For more details please contact us at (514) 935-8436.

What kind of accommodation will we have?
In Ecuador and in Costa Rica participants will live together on a farm. For other destinations, participants are lodged and meals are shared with host families.

What happens if a problem occurs on the site?
Our local partners collaborate regularly with foreigners and know how to professionally handle problems that may occur. Furthermore, the Canadian Embassy will be aware of your stay in the country and will be ready to respond to your needs in a time of emergency. Please note that the selection of these host countries is based on political stability.

What is HorizonCosmopolite?
HorizonCosmopolite is a Montreal-based organization that offers people the opportunity to travel in other countries and experience, through educational programs, a way of life and a reality that is different from their own. These programs give participants the chance to live an educational and enriching experience by sharing daily life with people of a different culture.

How long have you been around?
Our business was officially established in 1997, although the first steps were taken beforehand. To this day, more than 3000 people have used our services to go abroad, individually or in a group.
