To whom is the program addressed?
The program is mainly addressed to groups of students in special education, childhood education , pre-school education, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, environmental studies, biology, agriculture, agronomy, languages, and so on, who :
- Wish to open up to the world ;
- Wish to acquire a volunteer work experience abroad ;
- Want to engage in community development in a developing country where the culture, values and customs are different than their own ;
- Are interested in living both an individual and group experience;
- Are dynamic, organized and have an open mind ;
- Are ready to be socially engaged in all steps of the project, including their return ;
- Are aware that such an experience contributes to one's personal and professional development and that the experience should be seen as an opportunity to open up to the world around us.
 
In which countries do the school programs take place?
The programs for school groups at the post-secondary level take place in Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Benin, Burkina Faso, Thailand and in the Philippines.
 
Is there a minimum number of participants per group?
Yes. In order to participate in the program, your group must have at least ten people.
 
What is the length of the program?
From two weeks to 3 months depending on the country.
 
When can we leave?
When the time is right for you! The departure date is chosen by the group.
 
What are the costs?

When should we register?
Participants should register at least seven months before the departure date. This ensures that there is enough time for HorizonCosmopolite to organize the logistics of the trip and the 30 hours of pre-departure training. In addition, this gives participants enough time to fundraise.
 
What kind of accommodation will we have?
In Ecuador and in Costa Rica participants will live together on a farm. For other destinations participants are lodged and meals are shared with host families.
 
What happens if a problem occurs on the site?
Our local partners collaborate regularly with foreigners and know how to professionally handle problems that may occur. Furthermore, the Canadian Embassy will be aware of your stay in the country and will be ready to respond to your needs in a time of emergency. Please note that the selection of these host countries is based on political stability.
