Teaching French and Quebec Culture

The internship is offered through a small private school in the town of Salvador de Bahia, which was established in 1999 by a French speaking woman from Ontario. This internship focuses on teaching French as a second language to adults between the ages of 21 and 35 who are interested in immigrating to Quebec. The school was developed in order to support students during the immigration process by providing French courses (4 levels) and assisting with preparing for immigration interviews. Additionally, the school helps students understand the realities of life in Quebec, this is accomplished by providing classes in Quebecois culture, practical information on housing and employment etc.

By participating in this internship, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge of Quebecois culture. Through interactive activities and structured lessons you will make a significant impact on the academic future of several students. You will be responsible for your own class and therefore you must plan lessons, organize workshops, prepare activities which are innovative and enriching, monitor the progress of your students etc.

If you are interested in learning Portuguese, you can also sign up for lessons at this school.
